About The Position

At Call Your Mother (CYM), we believe that great food is made even better with amazing service and having fun together. CYM is a neighborhood bagel shop and deli with locations in Washington, D.C., Virginia, Maryland, Colorado, and soon Chicago, with more on the way. We are seeking new team members with positive attitudes and an eagerness to learn who are excited about good food and good vibes. We are currently hiring a Dishwasher for our Pearl Street Commissary. The Dishwasher Team Member is responsible for cleaning dishes and equipment, mopping and sweeping, rotating stock and deliveries, deep cleaning prep areas, and disposing of all waste. This role involves working Sunday-Wednesday from 4-10pm.

Requirements

Ability to traverse all parts of the restaurant quickly.
Prolonged periods walking or standing.
Must be able to lift, carry, and place up to 50 pounds at a time.
Must be able to bend, stoop, and wipe frequently.
Must frequently immerse hands in water.
Work ethic, problem-solving skills, teamwork, and a positive attitude are valued.

Responsibilities

Wash and dry cutlery, utensils, and cookware so the kitchen staff has constant access.
Change water of machines and sinks every two hours or more often as needed to maintain proper chemical dilutions and cleanliness.
Complete daily inventory form and report what chemicals and supplies need to be ordered.
Clean and sanitize all areas used for preparation, along with ovens, grills/plancha, slicer, sinks, and stoves.
Maintain cleanliness of the shop by doing a walk through and sweeping around each station every 2 hours.
Clean bathroom including toilet, sink, floors, empty trash, and refill toilet paper.
Follow the deep cleaning schedule to clean trash compactor (outside) and trash cans (inside) with degreaser and manual scrubbing.
Assist in the timely storing and rotation of food deliveries using the FIFO method.
Maintain the dry storage area and the organization of storage shelves.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
