About The Position
Rocky Top Catering is a premier full-service catering company based in Raleigh and proudly partners with the University of North Carolina and serving the greater Triangle area. From high-profile athletic events to weddings and corporate functions, our team delivers exceptional food and service across a wide range of venues. We are passionate about developing our people and creating opportunities for growth within our culinary team. This position is located inside Blue Zone at Kenan Stadium UNC Chapel Hill.
Requirements
- At least 1 year of experience in a restaurant dish room or kitchen preferred
- Interest in learning culinary skills and growing within a kitchen environment
- Customer service experience is a plus
- Knowledge of kitchen health and safety standards
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Ability to stay positive and efficient in a fast-paced environment
- Reliable transportation
Responsibilities
- Take full responsibility for the cleanliness and sanitation of all dishes, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment
- Load, operate, and unload the dish machine efficiently
- Monitor water temperature and chemical levels to ensure proper sanitation standards
- Keep dish machine clean and report any mechanical or operational issues promptly
- Properly wash, sanitize, air dry, and store all kitchenware and utensils
- Maintain adequate levels of dishwashing chemicals and cleaning supplies
- Keep dish room, food prep, and production areas clean and organized
- Remove trash and maintain cleanliness of kitchen and surrounding areas
- Ensure exterior areas remain clean and presentable
- Clean restrooms and facility areas daily and as needed
- Assist chefs with basic food prep (washing, peeling, chopping vegetables; portioning ingredients)
- Prepare simple recipes and ingredients under chef supervision
- Support setup and breakdown of kitchen stations for events and service
- Label, date, and properly store food items following food safety standards
- Assist with receiving and organizing deliveries
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of prep areas, walk-ins, and dry storage
- Learn proper knife skills and kitchen techniques with guidance from culinary leadership
