About The Position

Dishwasher - 2026 Season. American Cruise Lines, the largest U.S. cruise company, offers unique experiences exploring America’s rivers and coasts. We’re hiring Dishwashers for the 2026 season. You'll work in our shipboard galley to ensure the proper sanitation of all pieces needed to provide an outstanding dining experience. Requirements

Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age and an American citizen or Green Card holder.
Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without accommodation.
Must pass a pre-employment drug test, which includes testing for Marijuana and other controlled substances.
Consumption of alcohol is strictly prohibited.
Must have emergency and safety functions essential to the safe operation of the ship included in your training.
Must adhere to grooming standards that include limitations on visible tattoos and piercings.
Successful individuals work well under pressure, keep composure and have a positive attitude.

This is an introductory position to the cruise industry and a strong foundation for a career in hospitality.

Responsibilities

Responsible for the cleanliness and sanitation of the galley including cutlery, glassware, dishes, and surrounding areas.
Receive and carry food deliveries which require lifting boxes that weigh up to 50 lbs.
Ensure that the commercial dishwasher is operating properly and efficiently, reporting any maintenance issues to management.
Creating genuine rapport with our guests and catering to all galley requests in an efficient manner.
In addition to the routine Dishwasher duties, Dishwashers may be required to perform other functions, such as greeting guests upon embarkation, and providing assistance during special events including but not limited to afternoon teas and snacks and participate in evening entertainment.
