Dishwasher Utility
About The Position
The Dishwasher/Utility position is responsible for washing all kitchen utensils such as pots and pans and clean kitchen floors, walls, as well as any equipment such as mixers, bruisers and steam jacketed kettles. This position is based out of the Legacy Resort Hotel and Spa in San Diego, CA. Must maintain confidentially, and be able to work the assigned schedule. Our hotels primary goal is to provide hospitality and exceed guest expectations for levels of service, quality, consistency and attention to detail all team members are evaluated against this standard. A hotel operates 365 days a year, 24 hours a day. During the course of your scheduled shift, you may be asked to assist in areas of the hotel outside of your typical work areas.
Requirements
- High school diploma or general education diploma (GED) is required.
- Minimum one to two full years of prior experience in a related position.
- California Food Handlers Certificate required.
- Must be able to communicate in English
Nice To Haves
- Experience in a resort hotel is preferred.
- First Aid, CPR and defibrillator certifications preferred.
- ability to speak additional languages is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Washes pots and pans following guidelines.
- Maintains a clean work environment in pot washer area.
- Keeps kitchen area, floors, walls, and equipment clean.
- Cleans walk-in coolers.
- Handles Food and Beverage deliveries and re-stock/store food products according to first in/first out guidelines.
- Helps with basic food preparation when all other work is done.
- Coordinates with Executive Chef/Sous Chef/Supervisor work priorities and provides assistance; perform other duties as requested by management, and attend meetings as required by management.
- Demonstrates a working knowledge of all hotel safety and security procedures as required maintain a secure and safe environment for employees as well as guests.
- Reports any unusual occurrences and/or request to the Restaurant Manager.
