Dishwasher/Utility Worker - Part-Time
About The Position
Greensboro Urban Ministry, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization serving Guilford County, North Carolina, is seeking a Part-Time Dishwasher/Utility Worker for its Potter's House Community Kitchen. This role involves assisting the chef, staff, and volunteers with kitchen cleanup, meal preparation, and supporting the dining room and takeout window. Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Speaking, standing, carrying, climbing, reaching, sitting, walking, push/pull, lifting, bending, sweeping, and mopping.
- Must be compassionate, flexible, and demonstrate the ability to deal with diverse people and situations.
Nice To Haves
- Two years of experience in food service or in a kitchen environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist with kitchen clean up including washing pots, pans, dishes, kitchen equipment, sweeping, and mopping floors.
- Assist in the dining room and takeout window as needed.
- Assist with inventory of stock.
- Treat all clients, employees, and volunteers with respect, sincerity, and compassion as stated in GUM’s mission statement.
- Assist in the preparation of meals as directed by the supervisor/chef.
- Perform other duties as the Director of Potter's House may deem necessary.
