About The Position

The Utility Worker in Food Service is responsible for supporting the daily operations of the healthcare food service department. This position plays a critical role in ensuring cleanliness, organization, and efficient operation within the kitchen and dining areas. The Utility Worker will assist with dishwashing, food prep assistance, maintaining a clean and sanitary work environment, and supporting other food service staff as needed. This is a Part-Time position with shifts from 11am-6:30pm every other weekend.

Requirements

  • Basic understanding of food safety practices, sanitation standards, and kitchen equipment.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, attention to detail, and the ability to follow instructions accurately.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and perform repetitive tasks.
  • Strong work ethic, reliability, and the ability to work as part of a team.
  • Positive attitude and commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in food service or a similar role is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Wash dishes, pots, pans, and utensils in accordance with food safety standards. Ensure that all kitchenware is cleaned, sanitized, and properly stored.
  • Assist with basic food prep tasks, such as chopping vegetables, assembling ingredients, and portioning food.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen areas, including countertops, floors, and storage areas. Dispose of trash and recyclables in accordance with health and safety regulations.
  • Assist in managing inventory by stocking food supplies, cleaning products, and maintaining proper organization of storage areas.
  • Follow strict sanitation and safety protocols to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Work collaboratively with kitchen staff and other team members to support food service operations and ensure a smooth workflow.
  • Ability to perform duties in emergency situations and adverse weather conditions, which may include extended on-site work hours as necessary to ensure the continuation of operations and to respond to unforeseen circumstances.
  • Perform all duties as assigned by management, including but not limited to, any additional tasks or responsibilities as may be reasonably required to meet the operational needs of the organization.
