About The Position
This role is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and organization within the kitchen and dishwashing areas. The Dishwasher/Steward will sort, clean, and store dishes, pots, pans, and utensils, and ensure the kitchen is kept tidy by managing trash, sweeping, mopping, and removing soiled linens. The position also involves assisting with utility, cleaning, or food preparation tasks as directed by a supervisor and adhering to health policies.
Requirements
- No allergies to cleaning compounds.
- Physically capable of lifting 30-50 pounds.
- Must be able to stand/walk throughout the duration of the shift.
- Must have a positive attitude and ability to work as a team member.
Responsibilities
- Sorts, scrapes, and racks dishes for cleaning/washing.
- Washes dishes, pots, pans, and utensils by hand or machine according to approved procedures.
- Separates and racks items by type and places them in respective storage areas.
- Replaces washed pots and pans in the proper storage area.
- Dumps all trash and garbage in the kitchen as frequently as necessary or directed.
- Sweeps and mops kitchen areas as necessary.
- Removes soiled linens from the kitchen to the instructed designated area.
- Performs any duties as instructed by supervisor (utility, cleaning, or food prep).
- Adheres to the Restaurant Employee Health Policy.
