About The Position

The Dishwasher/Kitchen Assistant is a critical role within our communities as it impacts the lives of residents and ignites the warmth of human connection. This is a Permanent Part-Time position with 60–65 hours biweekly. The schedule includes 2 days per week as a Dishwasher working 2:00PM to 8:30PM and 3 days per week as a Kitchen Assistant working 12:00PM to 6:30PM. Requirements

• Grade 10 minimum education required.
• Must have Food Safe Certificate, or willing to obtain within 30 days of start date
• Proven customer service skills and excellent command of verbal and written English language
• Ability to work independently and/or as a member of a team.
• All applicants must successfully pass the prescribed Vulnerable Sector Check.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with prep and supporting the cooks.
• Cleaning dishes, pots, glassware, and cutlery following established sanitation procedures.
• Ensuring correct usage of chemicals in dish machine and pot-washing areas, i.e. uses 3-sink method for pot washing.
• Cleaning kitchen, including mopping entire floor.
• Assuming cleaning tasks as per site cleaning schedules.
• Receiving, uncrating, and putting away supplier deliveries as required.
• Alerting team leader to problems and makes recommendations about corrective action.
• Performing other duties as assigned.
