About The Position

Our Dishroom Clerks are the backbone of a clean, safe, and well-run kitchen. In this role, you'll keep equipment, dishes, utensils, and the work area spotless so the rest of the team can focus on delivering great food and service to every customer. Requirements

Must be 18+
Ability to follow detailed written or verbal instructions and work through tasks with a few concrete variables
Ability to perform simple addition and subtraction, copy figures, and count and record accurately
Ability to understand and follow verbal or demonstrated directions and communicate supply needs orally or in writing
Ability to work effectively as part of a team to keep the kitchen clean and running smoothly
Frequently stand and walk throughout a shift in sales, food service, or delivery areas
Perform repetitive standing, walking, reaching, and bending associated with order fulfillment, POS transactions, and cleaning/sanitation duties

Nice To Haves

Six months or less of similar or related work experience preferred

Responsibilities

Provide prompt, friendly customer service by greeting customers with a smile and making every interaction a positive one
Wash department equipment, utensils, dishes, pots, and pans thoroughly and consistently
Handle food safely and ensure the work area is always clean and neat
Remove trash in a timely manner and take department garbage to the compactor or designated area
Answer the telephone promptly and provide friendly, helpful service to customers who call
Work with co-workers as a team to ensure customer satisfaction and a pleasant work environment
Assist in other areas of the store as needed and take on special projects as assigned
Maintain strict adherence to personal hygiene, dress standards, and all Hy-Vee policies and store guidelines
Report to work when scheduled and on time
