About The Position

The Dish position helps provide guests with a memorable experience by keeping the restaurant clean, inviting, and supplied with clean dishes. The role operates the dish machine, follows sanitation standards, cleans kitchen and restaurant areas, and works cooperatively with the team. Dishwashers work in a fast-paced environment and must be able to perform the essential functions for shifts of up to eight hours. The job involves exposure to wet or humid conditions, cleaning chemicals, moving mechanical parts, and smoke from a wood-burning cooker.

Requirements

• Related experience and/or training in the restaurant industry.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Basic reading, writing, and mathematical skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Ability to remain calm under pressure.
• Dependability and ability to maintain a flexible schedule.
• Ability to communicate effectively with the team, including speaking and listening.
• Ability to perform the essential functions for up to an eight-hour shift.
• Ability to regularly lift or move up to 20 pounds and frequently lift or move up to 35 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Maintain high standards of personal hygiene.
• Work cooperatively with other staff.
• Keep the workstation clean.
• Operate the dish machine using proper chemical levels.
• Follow sanitation regulations and system standards.
• Bus, sort, rinse, and rack dishes after use.
• Wash pots and pans after each use.
• Empty trash cans and keep the dumpster area clean.
• Store silverware in appropriate areas.
• Keep the kitchen supplied with clean dishes.
• Keep floors, work areas, and restrooms clean, including disposing of trash.
• Clean restrooms regularly.
• Keep the parking area clean and clear of trash.
• Help maintain a clean and inviting restaurant atmosphere.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Attend and successfully complete ongoing training or certification programs required by the company, federal government, or state.
