About The Position

TrialKit is an AI-native legal technology platform transforming how attorneys handle digital discovery. Our platform ingests, organizes, and analyzes discovery materials - documents, images, audio, and video - and unlocks insights through natural language search, linked entities, and case-building tools. TrialKit was designed by defense attorneys and is already used by more than 100 law firms across the United States. We’re building the modern platform for litigation teams - and the Discovery Team that ensures legal teams get the most out of the system when they have complex cases. The Discovery Specialist role sits at the intersection of legal work, technology, and customer support. This role ensures customers can successfully onboard and process complex or non-standard materials through the platform. This is a detail-intensive role ideal for someone with experience both preparing digital discovery (as paralegal or legal assistant) and handling customer support questions. You’re an ideal candidate if you are precise, efficient, resourceful, and an excellent communicator. As we continue growing the team, we are looking for Discovery Specialists both at standard hours, and to cover times when others are not available (early morning/ evenings / weekends), so the application includes a question about your preferred hours.

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience as a paralegal or legal assistant, including reviewing and organizing large volumes of digital discovery
• Experience troubleshooting and working with a wide range of file types
• Comfort working with proprietary or less common file formats (e.g., forensic extractions, body cam footage, audio/video files) is a strong plus
• Strong communicator with both internal teams and customers; customer support experience preferred
• Maintains strict confidentiality and exercises sound judgment when handling sensitive and privileged legal materials
• Familiarity with legal workflows, terminology, and discovery processes
• Proficient with technology, including Box, Dropbox, Google Workspace, and Office 365
• Able to follow structured processes while adapting to edge cases, problem-solving, and recognizing patterns
• Highly detail-oriented and organized, with strong time management skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines
• Dependable, accountable self-starter with a collaborative, team-first mindset; able to work independently in a remote environment with a “no job too big or too small” attitude
• Fast and reliable internet connection required

Responsibilities

• Apply standardized workflows to maintain quality across all cases
• Support customers in preparing materials in formats compatible with platform ingestion, including proprietary evidence formats like UFDR extractions
• Troubleshoot file issues to ensure compatibility with the platform
• Guide customers through platform onboarding for new cases, including file organization best practices and upload workflows
• Manage multiple cases simultaneously, prioritizing based on urgency, priority, and workload
• Maintain accuracy and consistency while working at speed
• Maintain clean, organized digital file structures across local and cloud environments
• Identify and document non-standard file handling patterns and recurring technical patterns across customers to improve internal playbooks and collaborate with development
• Communicate with internal teams and customers about estimated timelines
• Help customers resolve support issues, or escalate as needed
• Share customer trends to inform roadmap priorities
• Partner with Customer Success, Development, and Operations teams to deliver a cohesive customer experience
• Support broader discovery operations as needed
