Skunk Works is an integral part of Lockheed Martin's Aeronautics business area responsible for advanced systems development including conceptual design and rapid prototyping of clean sheet solutions and improvements and derivatives to existing systems. The ideal skunk is an agile, multi-faceted teammate who loves to solve our customer's most difficult challenges. Some of our unclassified projects include the U-2, SR-71 Blackbird, F-22 Raptor, F-117 Nighthawk, and the F-35 Lightning II. Learn more about some of the incredible things we do here. Requirements

  • Ability to maintain a Top Secret clearance with special program access
  • Proven Flight Test experience
  • History in a Mission Control Room with multi-functional test team disciplines
  • Bachelor's or master’s degree from an accredited college or university in a technical discipline
  • Specific experience in: Air Data, Electrical Power Systems (EPS), Flight Control Systems (FLCS), Vehicle Management Systems (VMS), Flying Qualities (FQ), Navigation, and/or Loads
  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • No dual citizenship will be considered.

Nice To Haves

  • Of lesser priority, but still helpful, is a basic understanding of: Platform / Ground Hardware, Propulsion, Environmental Control Systems (ECS), Fuel / Hydraulics, Landing Gear, Performance, Flutter, Communications, GVMS, and/or Ground Software
  • Experience interfacing directly with DoD customers

Responsibilities

  • Developing and publishing test plans and flight test cards.
  • Determining and communicating test requirements and configuration to responsible engineering, maintenance, instrumentation and flight operation personnel to ensure test article readiness.
  • Complying with test safety plans and standard operation procedures.
  • Participate in test mission briefings, debriefings and control room operations.
  • Must be able to meet mission qualification requirements.
  • Performing real-time and postflight data analysis.
