Reporting to the Senior Legal Counsel & Director of the Office of Discipline Counsel and working as part of the University’s Office of Discipline Counsel, the incumbent represents the Provost in academic discipline proceedings before the University Tribunal and provides legal advice and guidance to clients across the University on issues related to academic discipline. In doing so, the incumbent conducts legal analysis and research, and drafts and edits documents including letters, pleadings, affidavits, and factums. The incumbent regularly prosecutes cases that are stressful and high stakes for the respondent students; as such, the incumbent is required to maintain a high standard of commitment to the integrity of the administration of justice as well as respect and care in their legal communication. The incumbent is assigned carriage of a high volume of cases. While the position has a high degree of independence, consultation and collaboration with other members of the Office of Discipline Counsel team is essential.
