About The Position

The primary purpose of these four (4) time-limited positions is to support day-to-day operational management for DCDEE’s administration of federally-awarded disaster relief supplemental funds intended to support licensed child care facilities with disaster recovery in areas affected by Tropical Storms Helene and Debby. This position must have working knowledge of the early childhood education system in NC that includes the Division and numerous stakeholders who deliver services to children and families. The position will interact and collaborate with the Division, internal staff, external stakeholders, community partners and child care operators in the implementation of the federally allowable activities of the supplemental disaster funding award and will require travel. Allowable activities include several categories: construction, major renovation, or alterations; materials, supplies, furnishings, vehicles, and equipment; mental health consultation or services, quality improvement activities; and other activities that build child care supply in impacted areas.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in a discipline relative to the program from an appropriately accredited institution and two years of related experience; or Bachelor’s degree in a discipline relative to the program area from an appropriately accredited institution and four years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Working knowledge of the early childhood education system in NC.
  • Ability to interpret and apply relevant rules, regulations, standards, laws and policies regarding programs, projects, and/or providers.
  • Ability to collect, understand, and utilize data and information.
  • Ability to contribute to program planning, evaluation and quality assurance.
  • Ability to understand the applications of technology to the program or project area and to provide technical assistance to providers.
  • Knowledge of the needs of the populations served, program or project objectives and standards, and structure and operations of agencies and service providers and delivery of services.
