About The Position

Environmental Services is looking for a dependable, mechanically inclined Disassembly Technician to join our team in Sidney, OH. This is a hands-on production position where you will use hand tools, power tools, pneumatic tools, and other shop equipment to disassemble automotive components. You will identify, sort, and stage reusable and scrap materials while helping the team meet daily production and quality goals. Candidates with experience in manufacturing, production, maintenance, assembly, warehouse operations, mechanical work, or other industrial environments are encouraged to apply. Requirements

  • Previous experience in automotive, manufacturing, production, mechanical, warehouse, assembly, maintenance, or industrial environments is preferred.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and comfort using hand tools, power tools, and general shop equipment.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, work procedures, and production standards.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify, sort, label, and organize components accurately.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a production environment and consistently meet productivity and quality expectations.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Reliable attendance and the ability to maintain a consistent work pace throughout the shift.
  • Willingness to work around automotive fluids, lubricants, grease, dirt, and used mechanical components.
  • Ability to work a full-time Monday - Friday, 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM schedule.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods throughout the shift.
  • Ability to frequently bend, reach, push, pull, and perform repetitive hand and arm movements.
  • Ability to lift and move automotive parts and components weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work safely in a warehouse and production environment.
  • Ability to hear and distinguish workplace instructions and emergency signals.
  • Reliable transportation to and from the Sidney, OH work location.
  • Ability to successfully complete applicable pre-employment and workplace substance-abuse screening requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Disassemble automotive components according to established procedures and production requirements.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, pneumatic tools, impact wrenches, pullers, and other shop equipment to complete teardown.
  • Separate and organize reusable, damaged, and scrap components according to established procedures.
  • Label, organize, and stage automotive components for further processing.
  • Drain fluids and properly handle used automotive fluids, lubricants, and other materials generated during the teardown process.
  • Maintain a clean work environment, including tools and work areas.
  • Follow established work instructions to ensure automotive components are completely and accurately disassembled.
  • Meet daily production KPIs and quality expectations while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Operate lifting devices, hoists, carts, or other material-handling equipment when moving automotive components and other heavy parts.
  • Maintain tools and equipment in proper working condition and report damaged or malfunctioning equipment.
  • Properly identify and report damaged or unusual components discovered during the teardown process.
  • Work collaboratively with other production areas to support an efficient workflow.
  • Use of forklift as needed
  • Perform other production or shop duties as assigned.
