Disability Support Worker. Casual - Palmyra and Thornlie

This organization is a leading social purpose entity with 8,000 employees across more than 500 communities in Australia, supporting children, young people, families, people with disability, older people, people with mental illness, those experiencing homelessness, and refugees/asylum seekers. The role involves joining the team in Palmyra, Thornlie, and surrounding suburbs on a casual basis. The successful candidate will support various people with disability who access respite, lifestyle support services, supported independent living, and community access. The position requires building positive relationships and actively participating in clients' interests, such as arts, crafts, sports, shopping, or community access. Candidates must have experience in mental health support and be available for a variety of casual, potentially short and last-minute, shifts.
Requirements
- Experience working with people with disability
- Experience in a mental health support role
- Previous experience working with behaviour support plans
- Experience with personal care and manual handling
- Strong computer and verbal and written communication skills
- An unrestricted Australian driver’s licence
- A current First Aid and CPR Certificate
- Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including a National Criminal History Record Check and obtain an NDIS Clearance
