About The Position

The Staff Pad has partnered with a full-service excavation and pipeline construction company providing comprehensive solutions for pipeline and infrastructure projects in Mabank, TX and we are looking to hire an experienced and qualified Dirt Superintendent to lead daily jobsite operations. The Dirt Superintendent will be accountable for delivering projects on time, within budget, and without incident. Depending on the project, this role will encompass responsibilities typically associated with a Project Manager, Job Foreman, or Superintendent. In this role, you will serve as the primary on-site representative, overseeing daily operations and managing the schedule, production, manpower, equipment, quality, and safety. You will play a key role in ensuring the job site runs efficiently and work progresses according to plan.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of heavy civil field experience as a Superintendent, Foreman, or Project Manager
  • Proven ability to manage a jobsite from the general contractor relationship through field laborers
  • Ability to read and work from prints, plan and profile drawings, and specifications
  • Working knowledge of excavation, trenching and shoring, backfill, compaction, and grading requirements
  • Ability to manage schedules, production, and quantities and report accurately
  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable motor vehicle record
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check, including a 10-panel non-DOT or 5-panel DOT drug screen and 10-year background check

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with gas distribution, fiber, water and sewer, or site development projects
  • Experience with scheduling or project management software
  • OSHA 10 and Competent Person training for excavation
  • Operator Qualification (OQ) for gas work, with covered tasks varying by gas company and generally not required on the excavation side
  • Estimating, takeoff, and change order management experience
  • Bilingual English and Spanish skills

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day jobsite operations, including manpower, equipment, materials, subcontractors, and scheduling
  • Serve as the primary daily contact for the general contractor, owner, inspectors, and utility representatives
  • Develop two- and three-week look-ahead plans, sequence the work, and adjust for weather, inspections, and utility conflicts
  • Direct foremen, operators, and laborers while holding crews accountable for production targets
  • Track daily production, quantities installed, and unit costs against estimates using Raken and Excel
  • Review prints, specifications, and submittments to identify conflicts, changes, and extra work early
  • Document and price change orders and extra work tickets and obtain field signatures
  • Coordinate material deliveries, rental equipment, trucking, and dump and borrow sites
  • Oversee site safety, including daily huddles, job hazard analyses, excavation competent person duties, and incident reporting
  • Coordinate inspections, testing, density reports, and quality documentation
  • Complete daily reports, timecards, and photo documentation using T-Sheets and Raken
  • Manage punch lists, restoration, and project closeout to the owner’s satisfaction
  • Recruit, train, and develop foremen and crew members while providing performance feedback
