Dirt Operator - Austin Industrial (Bay City, TX)
About The Position
The Dirt Operator must be able to operate electric, diesel, gasoline, or steam powered construction equipment, such as a motor grader, bulldozer, scraper, shovel, derrick, tractor, front-end loader or other power equipment to excavate, move or grade earth, erect structures, move products, equipment, or materials to and from industrial work areas. This role involves starting engines, operating controls to manipulate equipment like blades or buckets, signaling truck drivers for loading, and taking actions to avoid hazards. The operator is also responsible for inspecting, cleaning, maintaining, and lubricating equipment.
Requirements
- Legally authorized to work for ANY employer in the United States.
- 3-5 years of operating equipment experience.
Responsibilities
- Operate electric, diesel, gasoline, or steam powered construction equipment (e.g., motor grader, bulldozer, scraper, shovel, derrick, tractor, front-end loader).
- Excavate, move, or grade earth.
- Erect structures.
- Move products, equipment, or materials to and from industrial work areas.
- Push and pull levers and depress pedals to operate machinery (e.g., raise/lower boom, load line, blade, bucket).
- Raise, lower blade or bucket, and rotate boom or load by sight or according to signals.
- Inspect equipment for defects and malfunctions and notify supervisor.
- Start engines and operate controls to manipulate machines.
- Signal truck drivers to facilitate loading of materials.
- Take actions to avoid potential hazards and obstructions.
- Clean, maintain, and lubricate equipment.
