About The Position

BlackRock Financial Management, Inc. is seeking a Director to assume industry coverage and apply that knowledge to diligence opportunities within the High Yield and Leveraged Loan Markets. This role involves evaluating relative value across capital structures and working directly with the portfolio management team to underwrite credit risk related to high yield and loan positioning within dedicated leveraged finance portfolios and across BlackRock’s Credit platform. The Director will also partner with BlackRock’s capital markets group and external business partners on opportunities in new issue bonds and leveraged loans. A key aspect of this role is to oversee and lead junior credit research team members, mentoring, training, and developing new talent. Maintaining strong relationships with Product Strategists, Portfolio Managers, Capital Markets, Legal, and other support functions for the Leveraged Finance business is crucial. Additionally, the Director will develop thematic materials to share sector-level insights internally and in external client communications.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Economics, Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, or related field, and 96 months of experience in job offered, or closely related role.
  • Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Economics, Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, or related field and 72 months of experience in job offered, or closely related role.
  • 6 years of experience required in the following: Financial modeling; High yield and leveraged loan markets; Credit restructuring; Bloomberg Wire; Analytical and financial modeling using Excel; Expert Network including GLG; and Covenant document review.
