About The Position

DePuy Synthes is recruiting for a(n) Director, Worldwide Property Services; this Hybrid position will be in New Brunswick, NJ (USA). Alternate Hybrid locations may be considered at Raynham, MA, (USA), Raritan, NJ (USA), West Chester, PA (USA) or Palm Beach, FL (USA). Johnson & Johnson announced plans to separate our Orthopedics business to establish a standalone orthopedics company, operating as DePuy Synthes. The process of the planned separation is anticipated to be completed within 18 to 24 months, subject to legal requirements, including consultation with works councils and other employee representative bodies, as may be required, regulatory approvals and other customary conditions and approvals. Should you accept this position, it is anticipated that, following conclusion of the transaction, you would be an employee of DePuy Synthes and your employment would be governed by DePuy Synthes employment processes, programs, policies, and benefit plans. In that case, details of any planned changes would be provided to you by DePuy Synthes at an appropriate time and subject to any necessary consultation processes. Position Summary The Director, Worldwide Property Services is responsible for leading the global strategy, governance, and execution of property and real estate services across the DPS real estate portfolio (~110 locations). This role ensures that property‑related services—spanning space planning, workplace standards, and hard/soft services strategy—are consistent, scalable, and aligned to enterprise real estate and business objectives. The position has enterprise-wide impact, partnering with senior leaders to shape workplace strategy, optimize assets, and deliver consistent, high-quality property services across regions. Operating as the global service strategy owner, this role sets the frameworks, standards, and performance expectations that Regional Real Estate Delivery teams and Facilities Management organizations execute locally. The Director, Worldwide Property Services plays a critical role in ensuring that DPS properties deliver safe, efficient, compliant, and business‑ready environments in a standalone operating model.

Requirements

  • 12+ years of experience in property services, workplace strategy, facilities services, or corporate real estate
  • Experience operating at a global or enterprise level
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Engineering, Real Estate, Facilities Management, or a related field required; advanced degree preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to operate at an enterprise level and influence senior leaders across a matrixed organization.
  • Experience managing complex vendor ecosystems, contracts, and service delivery models.
  • Strong financial acumen, including budgeting, cost management, and portfolio optimization.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
  • English proficiency required

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in medical devices, pharmaceuticals, or other highly regulated industries.
  • Experience leading workplace strategy or large‑scale real estate transformation initiatives.
  • Familiarity with global property, facilities, and real estate best practices.
  • Experience working in a global, matrixed enterprise environment.
  • Real estate or facilities certifications preferred, not required

Responsibilities

  • Define and own the global property services strategy, ensuring alignment with DPS real estate strategy, workplace vision, and operational priorities.
  • Establish clear service models and expectations for property services delivered across regions and sites.
  • Ensure property services strategies support business productivity, employee experience, and operational continuity.
  • Oversee worldwide property and real estate operations, including leased and owned facilities, ensuring services effectively support business growth and operational excellence
  • Drive portfolio optimization, cost management, and value creation through data-driven decision making
  • Oversee vendor strategy, contracts, and service-level performance for global property services
  • Own global space planning principles and workplace standards, ensuring consistency while allowing for regional and site‑specific adaptation.
  • Partner with RE Governance & Strategy to integrate workplace and space standards into portfolio planning and investment decisions.
  • Enable scalable workplace solutions aligned to future ways of working.
  • Define global hard and soft services strategies, including service scope, performance standards, and integration with Facilities Management.
  • Ensure alignment between property services, FM operations, and RE delivery to enable seamless handoffs and lifecycle management.
  • Support continuous improvement and modernization of service delivery models.
  • Establish global governance frameworks for property services, including roles, responsibilities, and decision rights.
  • Define performance metrics and service KPIs in partnership with FM, Supplier Management, and Regional RE teams.
  • Provide insight into service performance trends, risks, and improvement opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory, safety, and company standards related to property and facilities
  • Partner closely with: Regional Real Estate Delivery leaders, Facilities Management leadership, Strategic Supplier Management, Workplace, HR, IT, Security, EHS, and Finance partners
  • Ensure property services strategies are integrated into broader enterprise and site‑level operations.
  • Enable enterprise transformations (e.g., separation, portfolio optimization, workplace evolution) by providing clear service strategies and standards.
  • Support adoption of new service models, tools, and standards across regions.
