The Director of Visual Merchandising, USA is responsible for leading the strategic direction, execution, and ongoing evolution of the HUGO BOSS visual merchandising experience across the U.S. retail and wholesale channels. This role ensures a consistent, elevated, and commercially focused brand presentation across all points of sale, while translating global visual merchandising standards into relevant regional execution. Aligning closely with all global and US cross-functional corporate partners, the Director of Visual Merchandising drives monthly floorsets, collection launches, window campaigns, store openings, format strategies, showroom presentations, and seasonal initiatives that support brand storytelling and business performance. The position also leads, develops, and inspires the regional Visual Merchandising team, building the structure, capabilities, vendor partnerships, and operational discipline required to deliver premium execution at scale. Balancing creativity, commercial awareness, and operational excellence, this leader plays a critical role in strengthening the HUGO BOSS customer experience and maximizing productivity across the U.S. market.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 8 + years of Visual Merchandising experience, preferably in the luxury industry
  • BA degree in Visual Merchandising or Fine Arts, preferred
  • Strong leadership, strategy, operational, and merchandising skills
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Strong organization, prioritization, and analytical skills
  • Ability to be creative and detail oriented
  • Ability to be proactive, strong problem solving skills; solution oriented
  • Demonstrates high energy and strong work ethic
  • Strong understanding of financial analytics
  • Experience working with a large volume of product; demonstrates premium commercial project management skills
  • Possess a clear understanding of financial measurements and how to impact them
  • Retail/Wholesale background
  • Ability to travel both locally and globally
  • Proficiency with Photoshop, Illustrator, Excel, and Power Point programs
  • Ability to lead by example, professional

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the creation, distribution and implementation of visual merchandising direction, which supports all points of sale across US retail and wholesale channels.
  • Direct a team of eight Regional VM’s, who were responsible for visual compliance and training throughout all US retail, factory outlet, and wholesale points of sale.
  • Conduct regular market visits throughout the US to assess visual compliance in the field, and conduct training workshops with Regional VM’s to facilitate sales growth through merchandising.
  • Lead senior leadership through monthly floorset sign-offs to deliberate on all aspects of seasonal work prior to global distribution.
  • Collaborate with merchandising, brand marketing, store design and e-commerce teams to ensure strategic seasonal alignment across the integrated marketplace.
  • Partner with the Global VM team in the development and execution of all seasonal visual campaigns, compliance tools, and in-store visual strategies for the us market.
  • Managed the logistical planning and implementation of quarterly window installations across all us retail stores.
  • Facilitated all window and in-store marketing needs for retail and factory outlet stores.
  • Managed annual visual budget, which encompassed all seasonal window roll-outs and in-store visual collateral across all distribution channels.
