About The Position

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Director to join our Ventures investment team. The Director, Ventures will identify, source, and successfully manage investment transactions to grow and enhance the value of our Natural Climate Solutions portfolio. Success will require strong leadership and teamwork skills, including the ability to manage high performing individuals and lead cross-functional teams throughout the organization. The ability to successfully manage a fast paced and rapidly changing set of high-impact priorities is key.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field required
  • 10 years of experience in investment banking, private equity, venture capital, or a related field
  • 5 years of people leadership
  • Demonstrated track record of creative problem solving, structuring and executing successful investments.
  • Demonstrated success in building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and financial modeling skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Passion for innovation and shaping the future of natural capital investments.
  • Willing to travel 25% of the time.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate the company’s Natural Climate Solutions portfolio to identify strategic growth opportunities.
  • Identify strategic growth opportunities and lead development of investment cases for strategic Joint Ventures, co-investments, acquisitions and related transactions.
  • Define and lead the execution of the company’s investment strategy to maximize the value of its Natural Climate Solutions portfolio.
  • Build and maintain relationships with investment partners and industry experts to enhance deal flow and market intelligence.
  • Cultivate strong internal relationships to form and execute through highly effective cross functional teams and ensure alignment with company strategy.
  • Execute a disciplined process to thoroughly evaluate investments. Work closely with operational, legal, finance, tax and other teams to conduct thorough due diligence and successfully manage transaction processes.
  • Develop and maintain complex financial models to support investment decisions and portfolio management. Prepare and present detailed investment recommendations for leadership review and approval up to the company’s Senior Management Team.
  • Develop a deep understanding of Natural Climate Solutions markets, asset value, industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive dynamics to develop investment strategy.
