The Director Utility Operations Services (UOS) provides leadership and strategic direction for various operational departments and functions, including Materials and Logistics Management and Transportation Services. The Director UOS is responsible for the development and implementation of UOS business plans and strategic initiatives designed to ensure the highest levels of material availability and cost, and the lowest cost and most reliable fleet of vehicles and equipment. This role is responsible for the development of annual budgets across all departments to achieve the lowest O&M cost for the client and the development of capital budgets, particularly in the Transportation Services department, for annual vehicle and equipment purchases and life cycle replacements. The Director is responsible for leading the development of a material analysis and logistics management strategy that provides a high level of material availability while balancing it with the lowest cost per unit for the client. This role is responsible for translating operational forecasts from Projects and Construction and T&D operations into material demands to secure production agreements with key vendors. The Director is responsible for oversight of all storeroom operations and logistics management, including material staging areas for storm and emergency response. Additionally, the Director is responsible for the development of employees to ensure a high level of performance, as well as high levels of employee engagement and retention.
