The Director, US Market Access (USMAx) Pipeline is an individual contributor who will lead U.S. market access strategy development for early pipeline priority assets within Immunology. This Director will be directly responsible for integrating an understanding of the complex U.S. health system and the needs and requirements of U.S. payers into early asset development and bring the voice of U.S. payers to our early drug development process. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of U.S. private and public payer segments, pharmacy and medical benefit reimbursement, buy and bill models, and the IRA. The candidate must be able to think strategically and critically, build strong and trusting relationships for cross-functional influence, and demonstrate strong executive presence in order to represent U.S. Market Access effectively in pipeline governance and business development discussions. The Director will work closely with cross-functional colleagues in Pipeline Commercialization Strategy (PCS) and Commercial Leadership to determine USMAx project and deliverable prioritization and will lead the delivery of these projects. This role will ensure integration within the AbbVie Pipeline Commercialization Model, including co-leadership of the Value and Access Teams (VATs) with International Market Access (IMAP) colleagues, and will lead the creation of US EIVPs (Early Integrated Value Propositions) and US Market Access Strategies. The Director will also participate in Asset Strategy Team discussions and provide leadership within other Pipeline Commercialization Model teams as needed (IEST). The ideal candidate will bring a proven track record of supporting a positive team culture, leading by example, strong cross-functional stakeholder alignment, and an understanding of the AbbVie Pipeline Commercialization Model.
