About The Position

Serves as the principal strategic advisor and senior partner to the President of the University, providing leadership across a complex academic medical environment. Performs various duties in managing the operations of the President's Office and furthering its operational and strategic objectives. Manages communications, provides administrative and strategic support, and drives efficiency within the leadership team. Ensure the synergy and alignment of TJU's strategies, initiatives, and integration efforts, and in alignment of its role within the Enterprise.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree
  • 10 years administrative experience in a large academic institution working with senior leadership and at least 5 years of experience managing complex, high level projects.
  • Self-starter with proven outstanding written and oral communications skills and strong editing skills, excellent project management and organization competencies
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with senior level officials in,the University and affiliated hospitals, as well as with other administrators, faculty, students and candidates for high level positions from other institutions
  • Demonstrated analytic and organizational skills required
  • Excellent ability to communicate persuasively and effectively and to promote cooperation and teamwork
  • Strategic and systems thinker with quantitative analysis skills
  • Proven ability to develop implementation strategies which achieve organizational goals and objectives

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the President’s lead liaison/confidential advisor on institutional strategy, integration efforts, ensuring alignment with the University’s mission, values, and strategic plan.
  • Coordinate and manage cross-functional initiatives related to organizational integration, including governance, operations, communications, academic alignment, and shared services.
  • Support expansion initiatives by identifying opportunities for collaboration, program growth, partnerships, and resource optimization between the University and the new organization.
  • Serve as a strategic partner to the President in leading the University’s executive leadership governance structure, designing and facilitating Executive Committee meetings to drive institutional priorities.
  • Oversee the development of high-level agendas, briefing materials, and decision frameworks; ensure alignment with strategic objectives; and direct rigorous follow-up, accountability mechanisms, and cross-functional project management to advance key initiatives.
  • Lead the development of executive communications and strategic messaging on behalf of the President, including speeches, presentations, reports, correspondence, board-level documentation, strategic memoranda, policy communications, and complex briefing documents for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure messaging advances institutional priorities, reflects sound judgment on sensitive matters, and positions the President and the University effectively with governing boards, faculty leadership, donors, policymakers, and community partners.
  • Advance institutional alignment by orchestrating strategic communication and collaboration across key stakeholder groups, including executive leadership, faculty governance, staff leadership, trustees, alumni, donors, and external partners.
  • Serve as a trusted integrator, ensuring transparency, informed decision-making, and cohesive execution of the President’s priorities across academic and administrative units.
  • Gathers, investigates and conducts research (including bios) to be used as reference tools and preparation for events and meetings.
  • Perform strategic, operational and financial analyses, tied to the educational, research and clinical missions; Primary liaison with Student Life and informs the President in dealing with student issues/concerns.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of standard operating procedures for the effective and efficient operation of the President's Office.
