The NAACP Empowerment Programs, Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization for equal rights, seeks a Director, Unit Capacity, who is a highly organized, collaborative professional with strong project management and stakeholder relations skills who leads the administration of unit elections and governance compliance across the organization's field structure. This role ensures units conduct fair, transparent, and constitutionally compliant elections, while also strengthening the broader governance capacity of units through training, standard operating procedures, and complaint resolution support. The Director works closely and coordinates with the Director of Unit Engagement and National Director, Training and Development to meet compliance deadlines and election-cycle milestones. Unit Capacity refers to a unit's overall ability to operate effectively and carry out the NAACP's mission. Unit capacity encompasses several interconnected factors, including: Membership and Unit engagement, Leadership strength and Unit succession planning, Volunteer availability, Governance & Compliance support to Units, Program and advocacy activity, Administrative compliance (meetings, reporting, elections, etc.).
