Your role at Baxter As Director of Transportation for UCAN region, you will lead domestic transportation of finished goods from Plant/Supplier through to End Customer mainly across the US and Canada. You will lead owned and 3PL operated fleets, common carriers, deployment planning and transportation execution.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or a supply chain/logistics field required.
  • 10+ years of related experience in Transportation, Supply Chain, and/or Logistics.
  • Ability to travel minimum of 30% domestically

Nice To Haves

  • TMS (Trax) and Kinaxis (Rapid Response) knowledge preferred.
  • APICS certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the UCAN Transportation team from a strategic and execution standpoint to achieve performance targets while successfully collaborating with Commercial, Customer Service and Warehousing teams.
  • Serve as a mentor, develop, and coach talent to achieve our mission to save and sustain lives every day.
  • Cultivate relationships with transportation partners to ensure access to the capabilities and capacity required to support the strategic vision of the organization.
  • Ensure key metrics are in place while effectively managing the domestic and international flow of raw material and finished goods to deliver on financial commitments for an annual budget of approximately $350M.
  • Champion the continued rollout and adoption of new logistics systems, including TMS (Transportation Management System), Control Tower, and Freight Pay solutions.
  • Develop and maintain a strong business continuity plan to ensure readiness for potential disruption including weather, labor negotiations and civil unrest.
  • Partner with Procurement to drive the RFI/RFP processes across transportation (commercial and private) driving optimal cost while meeting required service levels.
