About The Position

The Director, Truck and Equipment will be responsible for strategically managing and growing Truck and Equipment leasing and services. Objectives include growing the fleet with new clients (lease and services), increasing service penetration (Core products and Non-Core), and retaining clients. This position's leadership responsibilities involve managing politics and influencing others; enhancing business skills and knowledge; understanding and navigating the organization, managing change; and managing the work.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree required.
  • 7-10 years of successful experience in sales and business development.
  • Proven track record in managing and directing a sales territory.
  • Strong financial and leasing acumen.
  • Strong leadership qualities with good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills and demonstrated decision making ability.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to communicate with C-suite executives as well as front line employees.
  • Demonstrates honesty, integrity and keeps promises. Acts with composure under pressure.
  • Focuses on critical success factors to deliver business results. Maintains focus on current performance and future goals regardless of circumstances. Adapts plans per changing needs and adjusts actions to meet them.
  • Identifies and analyzes problems; distinguishes between relevant and irrelevant information to make logical decisions; provides solutions to individual and organizational problems.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Truck and Equipment Business by originating new leased assets and new fleet management services, focused on new business and client retention.
  • Support the macro strategy for the Truck and Equipment Group, focusing on client retention and new business acquisition.
  • Collaborate with Commercial Performance team to promote new business and client retention.
  • Utilize our CRM of choice (Salesforce.com) as the single source of truth, maintaining up-to-date information regarding companies, contacts, opportunities, proposals, quotes, and other information needed for the management and business continuance of Wheels.
  • Manage the set of KPI’s that will support the decision-making process and build efficiencies and effectiveness of business development.
  • Coordinate with other Commercial Team Business Units (Corporate Fleet, Special Programs) to up-sell the value of Wheels to our clients, improve margins and build strong relationships.
  • Collaborate with industry partners to promote new business and client retention.
  • Support in developing the yearly budget, providing inputs and strategies to achieve the numbers throughout the year with the defined territory.
  • Develop relationships with all stakeholders within our clients and prospects, creating long-lasting partnerships and value to the business.
  • Stay educated on targeted industries and equipment trends to further new business and client retention.
  • Attend and participate in applicable conferences and associations.
  • Assist in Collections, where needed.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
