Director, Treasury

Arena ClubLos Angeles, CA
$205,000 - $255,000

About The Position

Arena Club is seeking a Director of Treasury. As a key member of the team, you'll own the company's cash from where it sits, to where it moves, what it earns, and what protects it. This is a unique opportunity to stand up the treasury function at a dynamic, fast-growing startup. This is the first dedicated treasury seat. You will build the policy, the forecast, and the controls from the ground up.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
  • 8+ years in treasury, corporate finance, or banking, including direct ownership of cash forecasting and bank relationships, including FX management
  • Marketplace, e-commerce, payments, or fintech experience, particularly where the company holds funds on behalf of third parties
  • Demonstrated ownership of a cash forecast that leadership relied on, and a track record of improving its accuracy
  • Advanced Excel and comfort working directly in banking platforms and financial systems; ability to pull and reconcile your own data in an AI-forward environment
  • Clear written communication and experience writing policy, board material, and bank correspondence

Responsibilities

  • Own daily cash positioning and the rolling 13-week cash forecast, and drive forecast accuracy to a level the CFO and board can plan against
  • Develop a liquidity strategy and runway visibility, including scenario planning for growth investment, seasonality, and working capital movements
  • Manage banking relationships and account structure: bank selection, counterparty risk and concentration limits, account rationalization, connectivity, and fee negotiation and review
  • Drive the short-term investment policy from drafting to board approval, managing the portfolio within it, and balancing yield against liquidity the business needs
  • Manage payment processor relationships and economics: processing and interchange costs, settlement timing, reserve requirements, and contract negotiation
  • Oversee corporate insurance and manage the broker relationship and annual renewals
  • Evaluate and monitor debt facilities and working capital financing as the business needs them, and own lender reporting and covenant compliance
  • Own the treasury technology stack (TMS or bank portal strategy, payment controls, approval workflows, and segregation of duties) and build the fraud controls that keep a payment from leaving without two people knowing

Benefits

  • Total compensation includes base salary, bonus, and equity.
