About The Position

Provides strategic leadership, management oversight, and technical guidance to the Transaction Services department. Ensures the effective and efficient operation of all transaction services related functions. Provides strategic and tactical guidance, leadership, development and specialized expertise to associates. Responsible for task and initiative prioritization, resource and capacity management, team quality assurance, customer service, escalations, service level agreement adherence, and department projects as assigned. Partners with senior leadership to establish long-term operational strategy, service delivery frameworks, technology roadmaps, and risk management objectives. Ensures alignment with enterprise priorities, regulatory expectations, and business growth objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • 12 years of financial services experience, preferably within a banking money movement or payments operations environment. required
  • 6 years of supervisory/managerial experience. required
  • Advanced understanding of payment systems, transaction processing, and banking regulations
  • Proven ability to lead teams and drive operational excellence
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Responsible for strategic direction, risk management, and regulatory compliance
  • Strong financial acumen and ability to manage budgets and vendor contracts
  • Experience with enterprise-level technology implementations and automation

Responsibilities

  • Directs multiple integrated Transaction Services departments through subordinate leaders, establishing priorities, performance expectations, and strategic initiatives that support enterprise objectives. Develops and implements long-term plans, staffing models, and resource strategies to support current and future business needs
  • Establishes and enforces operational controls, compliance standards, and risk mitigation strategies, including ICFR and audit readiness
  • Leads process improvement and automation initiatives to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability of transaction processing
  • Oversees the development and monitoring of key performance indicators (KPIs), service level agreements (SLAs), and operational metrics
  • Partners with senior leaders across divisions and business units to drive cross-functional initiatives and ensure seamless service delivery
  • Partners with leadership to identify emerging operational, regulatory, and technology trends and recommends strategic innovations and organizational priorities impacting enterprise transaction processing capabilities. In coordination with specialized resources within the bank, leads change management initiatives and acts as a change agent across Operations.
  • Carries out all activities to ensure the timely, accurate and efficient processing of transactions; works with a range of transaction services offerings (e.g., Cash Management, funding activities and payment applications)
  • Monitors processing of transactions. Develops processes to ensure efficiency and compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
  • Accountable for functional budget planning, resource allocation, and investment prioritization to ensure achievement of strategic objectives and operational effectiveness.
  • As a people manager at CoBank, you will be expected to manage and lead associates.
