About The Position

Energy Fuels is a leading producer of critical materials, including rare earth elements and uranium, with a growing domestic and international footprint. The Director of Total Rewards is responsible for the strategic design, implementation, administration, and governance of the Company’s global compensation, benefits, wellness, recognition, and mobility programs. This role serves as a strategic partner to executive leadership in supporting a multi-national, publicly traded critical materials and mining company with operations across multiple jurisdictions and a diverse workforce including corporate, technical, operational, and international employees. The Director of Total Rewards ensures programs are market-competitive, financially sustainable, compliant with applicable laws and regulatory requirements, and aligned with the Company’s business objectives, operational priorities, and culture. The role oversees executive compensation, incentive compensation, global benefits administration, compensation governance, HR analytics, and regulatory reporting to support talent attraction, retention, engagement, and organizational performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive total rewards experience, including compensation and benefits leadership.
  • Experience supporting a publicly traded company required.
  • Advanced Excel, financial modeling, and data analysis skills required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting multi-national operations preferred.
  • Experience in mining, natural resources, energy, manufacturing, industrial, or similarly complex operational environments strongly preferred.
  • CCP, CEBS, SHRM-SCP, or SPHR certification preferred.
  • Experience with HRIS platforms such as Workday, UKG, or ADP.
  • Experience with compensation modeling and pay equity analysis tools.
  • Strong knowledge of executive compensation, public company governance, and equity plan administration.
  • Deep understanding of compensation analytics, salary structures, incentive plan design, and global benefits administration.
  • Strong analytical, financial modeling, and data interpretation capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with CHRO to develop and lead the Company’s global compensation philosophy, structures, and programs.
  • Design and administer base salary, short-term incentive (STIP), long-term incentive (LTIP), equity compensation, retention, and recognition programs.
  • Lead annual compensation planning processes including merit, bonus, market reviews, and salary structure updates.
  • Conduct compensation benchmarking and market analysis for mining, energy, industrial, and public company peer groups.
  • Partner with the CHRO to develop materials for executive leadership and the Board Compensation Committee related to executive compensation strategy, governance, and decision-making.
  • Support preparation of Compensation Discussion & Analysis (CD&A), proxy disclosures, pay ratio reporting, and other public company compensation disclosures.
  • Ensure compensation programs comply with applicable federal, state, provincial, and international laws and regulations.
  • Lead pay equity analyses and support compensation governance initiatives to ensure equitable and compliant pay practices.
  • Direct the administration and strategy of domestic and international employee benefit programs including: Medical, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, and retirement plans, Global mobility and expatriate programs, Wellness and employee assistance programs, Leave administration programs including FMLA, FAMLI, STD/LTD, and international leave requirements.
  • Oversee annual open enrollment processes and vendor relationships.
  • Evaluate benefits utilization, trends, and cost containment opportunities while maintaining competitive offerings.
  • Lead benefits renewals, broker partnerships, and vendor negotiations.
  • Ensure total rewards programs support operational mining environments, including remote and site-based workforces.
  • Collaborate with Finance, Legal, Payroll, Operations, and executive leadership on workforce planning and compensation strategy.
  • Support integration activities related to acquisitions, expansions, and international operations.
  • Develop scalable policies, procedures, and governance controls across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Oversee HRIS compensation and benefits functionality and reporting accuracy.
  • Ensure compliance with: SEC disclosure requirements, SOX-related compensation controls, Applicable labor and employment laws, Equity plan governance requirements, Multi-state and international pay transparency regulations.
  • Prepare materials and analyses for Compensation Committee meetings.
  • Maintain audit-ready compensation and benefits documentation.
  • Lead and mentor compensation and benefits team members.
  • Establish departmental goals, performance metrics, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, and service excellence.
