About The Position

As the Director, Third Party Management (TPM), you will be responsible for the holistic relationship between Capital One and third party suppliers in Canada, to ensure a stable and efficient supply chain. This position is responsible for key sourcing, cost management, risk management, and performance management related tasks for third party relationships in Canada. You will be accountable for ensuring that all Enterprise or Canada level policies and procedures are adhered to and for ensuring that appropriate documentation exists for all of their assigned third party relationships and is expected to work in a collaborative environment with internal customers, as well as with other appropriate stakeholder groups within Capital One.

Requirements

  • At least 10 years experience working in a cross-functional environment, ensuring stakeholder expectations are managed effectively
  • At least 5 years of people leadership and development experience
  • Deep subject matter expertise and relevant experience in third party selection, negotiation, communication, and third party management

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
  • Previous experience in supplier management, supplier oversight or third party risk management roles
  • Previous experience banking, finance or another highly regulated industry
  • Outstanding communication and relationship building skills. Director Supplier Managers must be able to influence and persuade senior executives, provide clear project guidance to customers, and collaborate across cross-functional teams.
  • Exceptional business judgment on contract and commercial issues
  • Strong problem identification and problem solving skills

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a team of supplier managers across one or more major spend categories, as well as the management of operational components and change programs (e.g. supplier transition, platform migration, new outsourcing, etc.) as required
  • Accountable for proper invoice review, reconciliation and payment for assigned categories
  • Partner with internal budget owners to deliver against operating or marketing budgets and deliver year over year cost savings in assigned spend categories
  • Partner with appropriate stakeholders on negotiations for all managed third party relationships and produce regular performance related reporting
  • Manage on-boarding/off-boarding of third parties and resolve performance related issues/escalations with third parties
  • Proactively identify and mitigate category risks and synthesize risk and performance related data into a holistic assessment of assigned third parties
  • Accountable for TPM policy requirements for all managed third party relationships and audits
  • Partner with internal risk groups to ensure third party relationships are compliant with all relevant requirements
  • Maintain constant awareness of external marketplace as it relates to third parties and/or relevant internal capabilities to identify mutually beneficial opportunities with third parties
  • Travel to various third party sites and corporate locations when required
