About The Position
The Director, Technology Operations leads the strategic planning and execution of technology programs to support organizational objectives. This role oversees Executive communication, financial management, program monitoring, and risk mitigation while fostering collaboration across multiple business units. The director drives continuous improvement initiatives, aligns technology strategies with business goals, and influences stakeholder decisions through clear communication and data-driven insights. By managing resources effectively and promoting operational excellence, this position ensures the delivery of high-impact technology solutions that enhance business performance and support long-term growth. The Technology Operations team drives operational excellence by managing Jira administration, vendor partnerships, and governance processes. It aligns engineering and product functions to boost productivity and strategic execution. Collaborating across departments, the team upholds organizational standards, monitors progress, and supports business priorities. Focused on program management, financial oversight, and process improvement, members ensure efficient delivery of technology initiatives. Strong coordination, communication, and analytical skills enable continuous improvement and effective stakeholder engagement within a dynamic environment, fostering seamless execution of technology operations aligned with business goals.
Requirements
- Extensive experience in program and financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, and ROI analysis.
- Proven ability to define and implement large-scale technology programs aligned with business strategy.
- Strong skills in stakeholder management, communication, and influencing across multiple teams and business units.
- Expertise in technology operations, information systems, and continuous process improvement.
- Proficiency in risk assessment, mitigation, and program monitoring to ensure successful delivery.
- Demonstrated capability in business operations, data analysis, and driving operational excellence.
- Ability to build collaborative relationships and lead cross-functional teams effectively.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, management information systems, industrial engineering, engineering management, business, information systems, project/program management, information technology, finance, management, or related area and 6 years’ experience in project management, program management, program operations, or related area.
- 8 years’ experience in project management, program management, program operations, or related area.
- 3 years’ supervisory experience.
Nice To Haves
- Master’s degree in computer science, management information systems, industrial engineering, engineering management, business, information systems, project/program management, information technology, finance, management, or related area and 5 years' experience in project management, program management, program operations, or related area.
- Background in creating inclusive digital experiences, demonstrating knowledge in implementing Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standards, assistive technologies, and integrating digital accessibility seamlessly.
- Knowledge of accessibility best practices and joining to create accessible products and services following Walmart’s accessibility standards and guidelines for supporting an inclusive culture.
Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, execution, and monitoring of large-scale technology programs aligned with business objectives and financial targets.
- Develop and manage program budgets, forecasts, and resource allocation to ensure optimal delivery and return on investment.
- Build and maintain strong collaborative relationships with stakeholders across multiple business units to influence and drive strategic initiatives.
- Translate complex business requirements into actionable technology strategies and oversee their implementation.
- Identify risks and develop mitigation plans to ensure successful program outcomes.
- Drive continuous improvement by evaluating operational processes and adopting best practices.
- Communicate clearly and concisely with cross functional teams to foster alignment and accountability.
