About The Position

Technical Operations, Engineering, and Cyber Security within NBCU Operations and Technology division is an $900M+ operating cash flow ($1.2B FCF). The group functions as a global shared service within NBCUniversal performing critical functions including Media, Broadcast and Studio Operations & Production, Content Supply Chain, Information Technology and Engineering, as well as Cyber Security. The group operates from numerous locations around the world, including New York, Los Angeles, Denver, and London. The Director, Technical Operations Finance will act as a financial and strategic thought partner to the SVPs for Enterprise Product and EVP for AI & Innovation as well as leaders within NBCU’s Enterprise Engineering and Information Security functions. This role will also support two enterprise-wide ERP modernization projects in the Finance and HR domains. Additionally, this role will oversee core financial budgeting and pacing activities, strategic analysis, workforce management and key vendor insights across the spaces detailed above. The role will report to the VP, Technical Operations Finance.

Requirements

5+ years of financial experience, including advanced leadership and financial stewardship
Experience managing financial metrics and forecasting
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or related field

Technology finance and relevant media industry experience preferred
Relevant senior financial management and leadership experience, preferably in a dynamic, matrixed organization

Responsibilities

Establish standard operating rhythms to assist Product, AI and Project leaders and Controllership in overall management and direction of the business from a financial perspective including the development and implementation of business strategies, operational goals, and policies
Own consolidation, reporting and variance analysis for short-term and long-term planning and forecasting rhythms
Develop tools and processes to provide insights into critical strategic operational areas (e.g. Product Lifecycle Management, BU liquidation methodology, strategic vendor relationship)
Provide leadership in the development of strategic financial objectives aligned with the long-range plan of the Product, AI and Project organizations.
Lead all core finance processes (budgets, pacing, estimate updates, long range plans)
Structure, coach, and develop junior talent
Lead the financial preparation and delivery of monthly op reviews
Engage and build relationships with adjacent business units to help drive efficiencies and growth opportunities for the business, ensuring transparency into the division financials.
Work to drive change as needed while also seeking to create buy-in and build consensus amongst internal stakeholders.
Develop strong relationships with the Product, AI and Project leadership teams and help guide and influence their plans to ensure the division achieves its budgets and long-range plans.
Partner with finance peers to implement operational and financial best practices across the business, and ensure balance sheet stewardship and controllership
