  • CPA required
  • 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, which may be a combination of public accounting (Big 4 or large national firm) and public company experience, with public accounting experience required as part of that background

  • Experience monitoring and leading implementation of new accounting pronouncements, from initial impact assessment through policy and process changes
  • A genuine self-starter, comfortable identifying issues proactively, working through ambiguity, and driving matters to resolution with minimal oversight
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate complex accounting concepts clearly, in both writing and conversation, to audiences with varying levels of technical fluency
  • Strong to advanced Excel skills
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent workstreams and shifting priorities in a fast-paced, public company environment

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with external valuation specialists as needed to support impairment assessments and other fair value analyses
  • Monitor the accounting standard-setting landscape, assess the applicability and impact of new and proposed pronouncements (ASUs), and lead cross-functional implementation efforts, including drafting adoption memos and updating accounting policies
  • Establish, maintain, and periodically refresh the Company's technical accounting policies, ensuring they remain current with GAAP and reflect how the business actually operates
  • Be a proactive, credible liaison with external auditors, anticipating questions, bringing issues forward early, and driving timely closure of open items rather than waiting for audit inquiries
  • Partner with FP&A, Legal, HR, and others as a trusted advisor on the accounting implications of new transactions, arrangements, and strategic initiatives
  • Identify and lead process improvements that scale and strengthen the technical accounting process, including incorporating AI tools to streamline research, drafting, and documentation
