About The Position

In close partnership with the business, the Director – Talent Development will design and drive the overall learning and development curriculum, standards and strategy while delivering practical solutions that improve how employees lead, collaborate and perform. The Director – Talent Development will leverage Hines’ global canvas and expertise to methodically drive a culture of continuous learning and performance that strategically aligns with workforce planning and other talent initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business or related field from an accredited institution; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Ten or more years of demonstrated experience in advancing Talent and Development initiatives and programs within a global organization; seven or more years of managerial experience.
  • Demonstrated experience applying instructional design and modern learning approaches to develop scalable enterprise talent, learning and leadership solutions across diverse countries, regions and cultures.
  • Proven experience advising senior leaders and partnering across HR, Talent COEs and business functions to address talent and capability needs.
  • Led complex, cross-functional initiatives from strategy through execution, including stakeholder management, change management and adoption.
  • Experience with AI learning, digital transformation, technology adoption or workforce change strongly preferred.
  • Experience administering learning management systems and HR/learning technologies; Cornerstone or Workday experience a plus.
  • Business-oriented consulting mindset with the ability to translate talent and learning needs into practical, actionable solutions.
  • Strategic thinker and thought partner who exercises sound judgment and helps achieve better business outcomes.
  • Exceptional relationship-building and influencing skills, with credibility across executives, business leaders, HR partners and employees of diverse backgrounds and cultures.
  • Strong project, program and change management skills, with rigorous organization, prioritization, follow-through and attention to detail.
  • Highly effective facilitation, communication and executive presence, with the ability to read the room, adapt in real time and make complex concepts relevant to diverse audiences.
  • Strong knowledge of adult learning, leadership development, behavior change and adoption principles, with a modern perspective on how employees build capability.
  • Working knowledge of AI and its workplace applications, including technical enablement and adoption of AI-enabled ways of working.
  • Global mindset and cultural agility, balancing enterprise consistency with local and business needs.
  • Strong analytical and assessment skills, using quantitative and qualitative insights to identify needs, measure effectiveness and inform decisions.
  • Adaptable, action-oriented and comfortable managing multiple priorities while consistently delivering high-quality results.
  • Sound judgment and discretion in handling confidential and sensitive information.
  • Proficiency with learning management systems, Microsoft Office, Teams and SharePoint.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute global talent and organizational development strategies that strengthen leadership capabilities, career progression, succession pipelines and a culture of continuous learning.
  • Partner with business leaders, employees, HRBPs and COEs to understand business priorities, identify performance and capability gaps.
  • Design and deliver fit-for-purpose, scalable, outcome-driven development solutions that build business acumen, leadership capabilities, and the technical skills employees need to perform effectively and adapt to changing business needs.
  • Bring a global perspective to talent and learning strategies, balancing enterprise consistency with regional, cultural and business needs.
  • Serve as a trusted strategic advisor by challenging assumptions, translating business needs into talent, learning and change solutions, and recommending practical alternatives when appropriate.
  • Modernize legacy learning approaches and technology to create engaging, scalable experiences that improve the learner experience and drive adoption.
  • Partner with IT on AI learning and enablement to build technical capabilities, responsible AI use and the behaviors and change management required to embed new ways of working.
  • Lead instructional design, facilitation and blended learning solutions, adapting content and delivery to diverse audiences and translating complex concepts into clear, actionable learning.
  • Establish metrics and evaluation methods to measure learning effectiveness, business impact and adoption, using insights to continuously improve programs and investments.
  • Manage external partners, vendors and consultants, leveraging market trends and best practices while ensuring solutions meet Hines’ business needs.
  • Lead complex, cross-functional initiatives from strategy through execution, with disciplined project management, stakeholder alignment, change management and exceptional attention to detail.
  • Oversee learning content, resources and LMS administration to ensure accurate, relevant and effective offerings, catalogs and required assignments.
  • Lead, coach and develop the Talent Development team, providing clear direction, ongoing feedback and opportunities to build capabilities and advance their careers.
  • Develop and manage annual budgets, monitoring spend and adjusting investments to align resources with business priorities.
  • Role model Hines’ Our Leadership Principles and build trusted, collaborative relationships across the organization.
