About The Position

As Director, Talent Development, you will lead enterprise talent development initiatives that build organizational capability and strengthen leadership across SPX. This role requires a strong operator who can run programs end to end, manage multiple priorities and vendors, and deliver high-quality outcomes with discipline and consistency. This role owns talent development program administration, delivery, and continuous improvement, partnering across HR and the business to manage annual cycles, governance, vendor relationships, and participant support with rigor and strong service.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in talent development, learning, leadership development, or a related field.
  • Experience designing and delivering leadership development programs.
  • Strong leadership, project management, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to run complex programs with strong operational discipline, including planning, coordination, tracking, and follow-through.
  • Strong process and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience managing vendors, budgets, contracts, and program logistics with accuracy and accountability.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development or related field

  • Proficiency with learning platforms, survey tools, HR systems, SharePoint, Excel, and PowerPoint preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the day-to-day administration and execution of enterprise talent development programs, ensuring strong planning, timely delivery, and high-quality participant experiences.
  • Manage annual and recurring processes, including calendars, enrollment, logistics, communications, reporting, and follow-up actions.
  • Coordinate vendors, facilitators, budgets, materials, and documentation to ensure effective program delivery.
  • Maintain governance through milestone tracking, issue resolution, documentation, and compliance with internal controls and data privacy requirements.
  • Monitor program metrics and feedback, prepare recommendations for HR leadership, and drive completion of key actions.
  • Help shape talent and organizational development strategy, including succession, employee development, retention, and capability building.
  • Design and execute leadership development programs that support supervisors, managers, and emerging leaders.
  • Define competencies, learning strategies, and development experiences aligned to the SPX talent strategy, operating model and culture.
  • Use internal experts, external partners, and digital tools to deliver targeted programs and measure effectiveness through KPIs and ROI.
  • Leverage internal HR and business leaders to deliver talent development programming where appropriate, increasing business relevance and shared ownership.
  • Maintain and improve talent development resources, tools, and content to keep materials current, organized, and aligned to business needs.
  • Manage learning and assessment partners, including contracts, budgets, performance monitoring, and relationship management.
  • Partner with HR and business leaders to execute priorities, improve efficiency, standardize processes, and strengthen the operating rhythm for talent development.
