About The Position

The Director – Systems is accountable for the overall performance, growth, and strategic direction of the Air/Paper Systems segment. This role has direct leadership responsibility for Category (Product) Management and Field Service, ensuring alignment between product strategy, service execution, and customer value delivery. The Director operates within a highly matrixed environment, partnering closely with Operations, Sales, Finance, and Supply Chain to deliver on financial commitments, operational excellence, and customer experience. While Operations is a key partner, this role relies on strong influence and collaboration rather than direct oversight to ensure alignment on execution, capacity, and performance. This leader will bring strong business acumen, strategic planning capability, a commercial growth mindset, and executive presence to drive profitable growth and advance the Systems business within Pregis.

Requirements

  • Education equivalent of Bachelors’ degree required
  • 8+ years’ relevant experience
  • 3+ years people management experience
  • Comprehensive knowledge of overall departmental functions preferred
  • Strong general management and P&L leadership capability
  • Deep understanding of product/category management and field service operations
  • Proven ability to lead in a matrixed organization through influence
  • Strong financial acumen and strategic thinking
  • Commercial mindset with focus on growth, margin, and customer value
  • Executive presence with ability to engage senior stakeholders and customers
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills

Responsibilities

  • Own and optimize the P&L performance of the Air/Paper Systems business
  • Own capital expenditure planning and strategy, ensuring we deliver on our P&L goals while keeping CAPEX spend within budget
  • Develop and execute the strategic plan, aligning product, service, and commercial strategies to market opportunities
  • Set, manage, and deliver against annual budgets, forecasts, and monthly financial performance
  • Drive profitable top-line growth through new business development and expansion within existing accounts
  • Lead the category management function, including product strategy, portfolio optimization, pricing, and lifecycle management
  • Translate market insights, customer needs, and competitive dynamics into actionable product roadmaps
  • Partner closely with Operations and Supply Chain to ensure product availability, standardization, and cost competitiveness
  • Drive margin expansion through pricing discipline, product mix optimization, and SKU rationalization
  • Lead the Field Service organization, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction, responsiveness, and technical expertise
  • Align field service capabilities with product strategy to drive value-added service offerings and customer retention
  • Identify opportunities to enhance service revenue streams and cost efficiency
  • Partner closely with Operations leadership to ensure alignment on Production capacity and scheduling, Quality and continuous improvement initiatives, Cost and efficiency targets
  • Drive end-to-end accountability for delivering customer commitments, leveraging cross-functional alignment
  • Build and maintain executive-level relationships with key customers
  • Ensure an exceptional customer experience across product delivery and field service execution
  • Support and partner with Sales on top accounts, pricing strategies, and solution development
  • Establish and monitor KPIs across product, service, and financial performance
  • Drive a culture of accountability, operational discipline, and continuous improvement
  • Attract, develop, and retain high-performing talent across product management and field service
  • Build succession plans and strengthen leadership bench
