About The Position

The Director Surgical Services (RN) is responsible for managing staff relations, including performance management, staff satisfaction, and conflict management. This role also oversees scheduling, staff development, recruitment, payroll, and student engagements. The Director monitors departmental budgets, regulatory compliance, departmental contracts, and vendor relations. They determine and justify needs for systems/equipment/supplies purchases, monitor usage, and oversee proper working order and/or stock supplies. Additionally, the Director creates and fosters an environment that encourages professional growth and integrates evidence-based practices into operations and clinical protocols. The scope includes 114 FTEs, 9,000 annual surgical cases, and 2,000 annual endoscopic procedures across 10 active Operating Rooms. Areas of responsibility include Main OR, Havasu Ambulatory Surgery Center, PreOp, PACU, Preadmission Testing, Anesthesia Services, and CSPD, covering specialties such as Orthopedics, Urology, OB/GYN, General Surgery, Plastics, ENT, Neurosurgery, and Podiatry. The multidisciplinary staff includes Surgeons, Anesthesia Providers, Nurses, and Sterile Processing Technicians.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
  • Arizona RN License
  • 5+ years of Surgical Nursing Experience
  • 1+ years Leadership Experience in Surgical Setting

Nice To Haves

  • Master's Degree in Nursing (or relevant field)
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support Certification
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support Certification
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support Certification
  • Certified Perioperative Nurse
