Our surgical team consists of specially trained surgeons, anesthesiologists, nurses, surgical technologists, certified nurse anesthetists and other highly trained professionals. Directs the department's activities and resources to achieve departmental and organizational objectives. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: To perform this job, an individual must perform each essential function satisfactorily with or without a reasonable accommodation. Develops and implements departmental goals, plans, and standards consistent with the clinical, administrative, legal, and ethical requirements/objectives of the organization. Directs and evaluates departmental operations, including patient care delivery, information technologies, service level determination, and complaint management, to achieve performance and quality control objectives. Plans and monitors staffing activities, including hiring, orienting, evaluating, disciplinary actions, and continuing education initiatives. Prepares, monitors, and evaluates departmental budgets, and ensures that the department operates in compliance with allocated funding. Coordinates and directs internal/external audits. Creates and fosters an environment that encourages professional growth. Integrates evidence-based practices into operations and clinical protocols. Regular and reliable attendance. What you will do The Operating Room Coordinator is responsible for assisting the Director of Surgical Services in the assessment, planning, implementation, and the evaluation of nursing service in the surgical services OR and Endo areas. He/She makes workload assignments and oversees patient flow/safety throughout surgical services in addition to a specific patient assignment. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Manage the work of others, including planning, assigning, scheduling and reviewing work, ensures quality standards. Responsible for hiring, terminating, training and developing, reviewing performance and administering corrective action for staff. Requirements

  • Applicants should have a current state RN license.
  • Minimum Work Experience two years' experience as a charge nurse with demonstrated administrative and supervisory competence
  • 5 plus years in surgery
  • BCLS within 30 days of hire/transfer; ACLS within 90 days of hire/transfer
  • Business Mathematical Skills -- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages and to draw and in-terpret graphs.
  • Moderate Computer Skills -- Frequent use of electronic mail, word processing, data entry, spreadsheets, graphics, etc. Ability to create, maintain and incorporate simple functions into documents, spreadsheets, databases, and presentations to support business objectives.
  • Complex Communication -- Frequently communicates complex information and interacts with management. Can present, resolve, and address delicate situations. Can motivate and persuade others.
