About The Position

Lencore Acoustics LLC, a subsidiary of Emmis Corporation, is a leading manufacturer of Sound Masking, Paging, and Audio Systems. The Director of Supply Chain and Purchasing for Lencore Acoustics leads strategic sourcing, negotiates major vendor contracts, and oversees the supply chain. This executive role for an acoustic manufacturing leader blends inventory forecasting, supplier relationship management, and procurement budget control to support production operations. The Director will lead the strategic and tactical execution of outsourced manufacturing. This position will serve as the primary liaison between internal stakeholders (Engineering, Quality, Planning) and external Contract Manufacturers to ensure high-quality, cost-effective production that supports master schedules. The role focuses on overseeing outsourced production, mitigating risks, and ensuring the Contract Manufacturer meets quality, cost, and delivery requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or an Engineering discipline.
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, or vendor management, with a strong focus on contract manufacturing.
  • Strong proficiency with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or equivalent) and Bills of Materials (BOM) management.
  • Advanced commercial acumen, expert negotiation skills, and the ability to collaborate cross-functionally.

  • Familiarity with the acoustics or electronics manufacturing industry is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery timelines with suppliers.
  • Leveraging MRP and sales forecasting, develop and implement future production schedules on a weekly basis in order to achieve set inventory levels to assure customer shipping expectations.
  • Partner with planning, sales, and manufacturing teams to prevent supply gaps and manage overall inventory. Manage Excess and Obsolete (E&O) inventory, aligning CM capacity and raw material stock with organizational forecasts.
  • Manage ERP/MRP systems, ensure materials meet rigorous manufacturing quality standards, and oversee procurement compliance.
  • Supervise materials managers, buyers, and purchasing agents, guiding departmental growth. Manage Supply Chain Coordinator position.
  • Proactively manage CM execution, performance planning, and production alignment to support mid- to high-volume manufacturing.
  • Lead supplier performance reviews, utilizing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) like On-Time Delivery (OTD), Quality metrics, and lead-time reductions.
  • Visit CM facilities to qualify new sources, conduct audits, and assist in resolving production bottlenecks or design issues.
  • Lead Request for Proposal (RFP) and Request for Quote (RFQ) processes for new product launches and outsourced assemblies.
  • Negotiate strategic supply and service agreements, pricing, payment terms, and capacity commitments with contract manufacturers.
  • Oversee material phase-in and phase-out related to Engineering Change Orders (ECOs).
