About The Position

The Director, Strategy & Last Mile Operations will lead key strategic initiatives across BloomNet’s technology-enabled business lines. This role focuses on enhancing Delivery Service Provider (DSP) pricing and operations, driving Point of Sale (POS) growth and adoption, and implementing new systems to increase coverage and quality across key vendor channels. The ideal candidate blends strategic thinking, operational expertise, and strong program management skills to optimize processes, launch new programs, and drive adoption. This role partners cross-functionally, influences senior leadership, and manages complex initiatives that improve florist satisfaction, operational efficiency, and BloomNet’s competitive position.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required; quantitative discipline preferred
  • 7+ years of experience managing strategic and operational initiatives in complex organizations
  • Strong analytical and technical skills (SQL, Excel, Tableau, PowerPoint, SAS)
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence without authority
  • Demonstrated success launching programs, products, or platforms in multi-stakeholder environments
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, including executive-level influence

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with local Delivery Service Providers, rideshare operations, or last-mile platforms (e.g., Uber, DoorDash, Walmart GoLocal, Instacart, Gopuff, Shipt, Roadie)
  • Background in management consulting, business transformation, or strategic analysis
  • MBA or advanced analytical degree
  • Experience with SaaS-enabled services, marketplace platforms, or tech-enabled logistics
  • Prior ownership of a P&L or scaled commercial program

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute business strategies to enhance DSP offerings and drive florist adoption; own end-to-end program management
  • Execute and evolve the DSP roadmap across pricing, routing, dispatch, and automation initiatives
  • Expand DSP usage across mass market and enterprise accounts through deployment strategy, integration support, and operational readiness
  • Lead POS platform strategy and redesign, including conversion optimization and partnerships for data sharing, image tracking, and proof-of-delivery (lat/long)
  • Identify and execute partnerships with POS providers, last-mile carriers, and technology vendors
  • Drive revenue opportunities through competitive analysis, pricing strategy, and business model innovation across SaaS and technology offerings
  • Serve as program lead for new product launches and technology-enabled services
  • Coordinate cross-functionally with IT, Marketing, Finance, Sales, and Operations
  • Establish KPIs and reporting frameworks to track adoption, financial performance, and customer experience across DSP, auto-dispatch, and POS
