About The Position

As the Director of Strategy & Insights, you will run corporate strategy projects for the consumer business and create a shared source of truth about our customers. On the strategy side: market entry questions, portfolio decisions, future-proofing our business. On the insights side: collaborating with analytics and research teams across Dow Jones to harmonize metrics, align on a shared view of the customer, and drive insights-led decision making at the senior leadership level. This is a strategy role with a focus on insights–not a market research or analytics role. You will work on-site in our Midtown Manhattan office 3 days a week and report to the SVP, Consumer Ventures & Strategy.

Requirements

  • 12+ years of experience in strategy and operations roles; including experience at a top-tier consulting firm and/or a high-performing internal corporate strategy/strategy and operations team, with meaningful exposure to data and insights work
  • A proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and navigate complex organizations
  • Comfort with data tools and architecture
  • At least: fluency with AI and ideas about how to use it for synthesis and research; at best: experience deploying AI tools across an analytics or strategy function
  • A deep interest in the future of media and content businesses and ideas about how to navigate it
  • The willingness to work in our Midtown Manhattan office at least 3 days each week

  • Able to analyze qualitative and quantitative data to derive insights
  • Able to navigate, unpack, and understand different metrics, definitions, and points of view

  • A data-driven storyteller who knows how to use analytics and insights to drive to decisions
  • Entrepreneurial: able to put a strategy into action
  • Media, content, and/or subscription experience

Responsibilities

  • Lead corporate strategy projects across the consumer portfolio: market entry, portfolio shape, pricing strategy, competitive response
  • Work across the Dow Jones consumer group to align metrics and derive insights that unlock growth
  • Translate insights into recommendations on roadmap, pricing, and retention
  • Track AI, platform, and consumer behavior shifts and feed signal into strategy
