About The Position

The Director, Strategy and Implementation leads the translation of EmployIndy’s strategic priorities into coordinated, measurable action. The role leads the organization-wide strategic plan implementation process, serves as a strategic thought partner to leaders responsible for key priorities, and directly leads select cross-functional strategic initiatives and special projects. Working across departments and organizational leadership, the Director brings structure to complex or emerging priorities by defining desired outcomes, developing implementation approaches, coordinating stakeholders, identifying barriers and dependencies, and measuring progress. The position combines strategic thinking with project and change management practices to move priority initiatives from concept through implementation and, when appropriate, transition them to ongoing operational ownership. The Director leads and maintains the strategic plan implementation process, including action plans, milestones, measures, reporting, and performance reviews. The position partners with executive and senior leaders who own strategic plan actions to develop executable plans and measurable outcomes, while supporting accountability with the designated action owner. The Director monitors progress, identifies issues requiring cross-functional coordination or leadership decisions, supports reporting to organizational leadership and the Board, and recommends adjustments based on performance data, stakeholder feedback, and organizational learning. The Director also leads select high-priority, cross-functional strategic initiatives and special projects identified by organizational leadership. These may span departments, represent new or evolving areas of work, or require dedicated implementation capacity. The role defines project objectives, scope, workplans, milestones, roles, decision points, and success measures; coordinates research, analysis, stakeholder engagement, and process assessment; convenes internal teams and external partners; facilitates decision-making; and applies project and change management practices to monitor progress, manage risks and dependencies, resolve barriers, and maintain accountability. The Director evaluates results, recommends opportunities to refine or scale successful approaches, and develops plans to transition work to appropriate long-term operational ownership. The position also provides strategic analysis and implementation support for emerging organizational priorities and other assigned special projects. EmployIndy is an equal opportunity employer.
