About The Position

This is a full-time, remote position based in the United States with frequent travel across the Caribbean region If you’re a commercially minded leader who values long-term relationships as much as sound economics, this role places you at the center of decisions that shape MASA’s international growth. As Director, Strategic International Partnerships, you’ll steward MASA’s most important third-party relationships in the Caribbean region--helping ensure our medical transport and insurance operations remain financially strong and operationally reliable. You’ll lead senior-level commercial discussions with Caribbean air ambulance providers and insurers, translating financial insight into partnership strategies that balance discipline with service quality, compliance, and long-term stability. Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in healthcare contracting, insurance negotiation, business development, or related commercial roles.
  • A record of commercial success in the Caribbean region.
  • Demonstrated success in managing complex partnerships and leading rate or contract negotiations.
  • Strong analytical capability, with the ability to interpret claims data, pricing models, and utilization patterns.
  • Proven ability to influence, collaborate, and build trust across cross-functional teams and external partners.
  • Comfort working independently in a remote, regionally distributed environment.
  • Willingness to travel across the Caribbean region (up to 25%).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with health insurers, government health schemes, or air medical transport providers (strongly preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Leading senior-level commercial discussions and negotiations with air Caribbean ambulance providers to establish competitive, sustainable rate structures and service commitments.
  • Managing and strengthening strategic partnerships with private insurers and regional healthcare stakeholders throughout the Caribbean.
  • Owning partner economics while ensuring agreements support reliable, compliant, and high-quality service delivery throughout the region.
  • Analyzing claims activity, utilization trends, and financial drivers to inform renewal strategies and long-term partnership decisions.
  • Collaborating with underwriting, claims, and transport teams to align negotiated terms with pricing strategy, portfolio risk expectations, and operational realities.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve partnership efficiency, structure, and long-term value.
  • Communicating partnership strategy, risks, and outcomes clearly to executive leadership.
