About The Position

Director, Strategic Partnerships Fuel Our Mission. Drive Impact. At Beyond Type 1, we’re on a mission to improve the lives of people impacted by diabetes. As our next Director of Strategic Partnerships, you will lead the strategy and execution of high-impact, revenue-generating partnerships that fuel our programs, platforms, and long-term growth. This role owns the development and management of complex partnerships across healthcare, technology, consumer brands, and other out-of-industry collaborators—translating mission alignment into meaningful financial and programmatic outcomes. This role is ideal for a senior relationship-builder and deal strategist—someone comfortable operating at the C-suite level, navigating complex organizations, and building trust-driven partnerships that go beyond transactional sponsorships. Requirements

  • Have 8–10+ years of progressive experience in strategic partnerships, business development, corporate fundraising, or related fields.
  • Bring a proven track record of closing six- and seven-figure partnerships, ideally including complex, multi-year agreements.
  • Are a self-starter with exceptional personal time management skills, able to independently manage priorities, tasks, and deadlines against pipeline goals and revenue targets.
  • Excel at owning your pipeline end-to-end—managing time and effort strategically to advance deals, meet goals, and deliver consistent results.
  • Are a confident deal-maker who balances creative partnership ideation with strong commercial discipline.
  • Build trust easily with senior stakeholders both internally and externally, navigating complex organizational and decision-making dynamics with credibility and emotional intelligence.
  • Think strategically while maintaining strong operational rigor—highly goal-driven with a keen attention to detail and follow-through.
  • Are an exceptional communicator and storyteller, able to clearly align mission, value, and business objectives across diverse audiences.
  • Thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, and highly collaborative environment, bringing sound judgment, adaptability, and professionalism.
  • Have experience using Salesforce or similar CRM systems to manage pipelines, forecast revenue, and track performance.
  • Are comfortable with 15% travel to fulfill key responsibilities, including partner meetings, internal team offsite and events, and strategic industry convenings.
  • Hold a Bachelor’s degree (advanced degrees or relevant certifications a plus).

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Partnership Development & Revenue Growth Execute the vision for Beyond Type 1’s strategic partnerships portfolio, aligned with organizational revenue goals and programmatic priorities.
  • Bringing existing relationships and forging new ones, develop and manage a robust pipeline of corporate partner prospects, with a focus on closing six- and seven-figure opportunities.
  • Build and maintain trusted relationships with senior leaders across healthcare, technology, consumer brands, and adjacent industries—prioritizing national and international partners with an authentic, values-aligned connection to the diabetes community we serve.
  • Own the full partnership lifecycle—from prospecting, creative ideation and deal structuring to negotiation, and close, working to then transition accounts to our Partner Management team for activation, renewal, and long-term stewardship.
  • Collaborate closely with the SVP, Growth + Partnerships to identify white space, uncommon partnerships opportunities to evolve BT1’s partnership model as the organization scales, designing innovative partnership strategies that generate new funding, in meaningful, mission-forward, community-centered ways.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration Partner closely with Marketing and Social Impact & Global Advocacy (SIGA) teams to ensure partnerships are mission-forward and deliver mutual value.
  • Generate succinct partnership briefs to help guide the development of proposals and pitch materials, and partner with Operations to ensure partnerships are executed with excellence, clear accountability, and strong internal alignment.
  • Executive-Level Relationship Management Serve as a senior external ambassador for Beyond Type 1, representing the organization with credibility, warmth, and strategic clarity.
  • Partner with BT1 executive leadership, where appropriate—including the CEO, President, and Board members—to support high-level engagement, deepen alignment, and unlock transformational partnerships.
  • Reporting & Performance Management Translate partnership team strategy into clear, actionable revenue roadmaps that drive execution and accountability.
  • Maintain rigorous pipeline management using Salesforce and related tools to track deal progression, forecast revenue, and measure partnership performance.
  • Analyze market dynamics, pipeline trends, and partner performance to inform prioritization, resource allocation, and future growth strategy.
  • Prepare concise, insight-driven reporting on the full deal lifecycle for executive leadership and cross-functional stakeholders, enabling informed decision-making and continuous optimization.
