About The Position

This role is responsible for developing and implementing a global sourcing strategy aligned with business objectives. The Director of Sourcing will identify opportunities for cost reduction, value creation, and supplier-driven innovation. This includes analyzing industry trends and evolving technology to proactively identify supply base issues, minimize risk, protect continuity of supply, and utilize emerging opportunities. The position also involves participating in Make/Buy Analysis, providing commodity management guidance, and acting as a center of excellence for respective commodities. Additionally, the role focuses on establishing and maintaining strategic supplier relationships, developing and executing supplier contracts, and tracking continuous improvement targets for suppliers. Risk management, cross-functional collaboration, and team development are also key aspects of this position.

Requirements

12+ years in procurement/sourcing
At least 5 years in a senior leadership role within a global manufacturing environment.
Proven track record of delivering commodity strategies, cost savings and supplier innovation.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement a global sourcing strategy aligned with business objectives.
Identify opportunities for cost reduction, value creation, and supplier-driven innovation.
Analyze industry trends and evolving technology to proactively identify supply base issues to minimize risk, protect continuity of supply, and utilize emerging opportunities for the betterment of the organization. Monitor and report on trend analysis.
Participate in Make/Buy Analysis on a continual basis to identify and optimize savings opportunities.
Provide Commodity Management guidance: Train and provide tools to support new strategy roll out. Lead Ideation workshops to review current state and future trends to fully support strategies.
Act as a center of excellence for the respective commodities through complete understanding of industry, competition, future technologies and innovations.
Lead creation and execution of commodity strategies (primary and secondary) that align with the directives of the organization and with respect to risk, quality, delivery and cost.
Establish and maintain strategic relationships with key suppliers.
Identify and develop supplier relationships with a strong focus on flexibility/agility, quick response times, process flow efficiency, product quality, on time delivery, distribution excellence and supplier reliability.
Develop and execute supplier contracts/agreements in alignment with the financial objectives of the organization that will ensure supplier performance excellence.
Develop and track CI improvement targets for current and new suppliers to achieve world-class cost, quality, service and delivery levels. Help to identify and implement to achieve cost savings opportunities.
Assess and mitigate supply chain risks, including geopolitical, financial, and operational risks.
Develop contingency plans for critical supply disruptions.
Partner with Engineering, Operations, and Finance to ensure sourcing strategies support product development and profitability.
Drive sustainability and compliance initiatives across the supply base.
Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and collaboration.
Provide leadership to direct reports in the execution of work plans and short/long term goals. Set, implement department goals in alignment with Global Procurement and Supply Chain goals.
Create and lead a team of dynamic Sourcing professionals that create/develop, implement and manage various commodity strategies while mitigating risk, improving quality and lead time while reducing cost. Manage team to execute value optimization as well as innovation.
