About The Position

Xometry is seeking a Director, Sourcing Strategy & Operations to own and drive the strategic vision and execution of its US domestic sourcing team across CNC machining, additive manufacturing, and sheet and tube fabrication. The role leads sourcing operations, a key enabler of marketplace revenue and margin growth, and works across product, engineering, pricing, operations, and sales to address complex sourcing challenges and support the growth of Xometry’s AI-powered custom manufacturing marketplace.

The Director will lead sourcing operations and process transformation, shape sourcing strategy across manufacturing verticals, and improve supplier selection, sourcing cost, acceptance rates, and margins through collaboration with technology teams. This role also works with pricing, partner, and category teams to improve profitability and evaluates partner performance across capabilities, geographies, and price points.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in manufacturing, procurement, supply chain management, or marketplace operations, with exposure to technology implementation.
• Understanding of manufacturing processes, technologies, and industry dynamics.
• Experience leveraging data analytics and AI to drive strategic business decisions.
• Demonstrated success working across organizations to implement complex initiatives.
• Ability to create and articulate compelling long-term strategies while delivering short-term results.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of 20+ sourcing specialists and managers to achieve sourcing margin and efficiency targets.
• Define and monitor KPIs across the order placement-to-delivery funnel, assess workflows, identify bottlenecks, and redesign processes for efficiency.
• Define and execute technology and operational sourcing strategies to drive growth and profitability across manufacturing verticals.
• Benchmark sourcing practices against industry best practices and deliver improvements through a multi-year roadmap.
• Collaborate with technology teams to enhance AI-powered matching algorithms, optimize sourcing cost and supplier selection, and improve acceptance rates and margin performance.
• Provide input to pricing, partner, and category teams on strategies and operational improvements that enhance gross margins and partner performance.
• Evaluate partner performance across partners and geographies to guide sourcing strategy and meet evolving customer needs for capability, geography, and price point.
• Project manage and implement cross-functional initiatives with product, engineering, sales, and operations teams to drive marketplace growth.
