Pindrop
$218,000 - $262,000Remote

About The Position

As Director, Software Engineering for Protect, you will lead a critical part of Pindrop’s real-time, multi-signal fraud detection platform. You will guide both the technical direction and the people strategy for the team, helping scale the distributed systems that analyze voice, device, and behavioral patterns while improving execution, quality, and team effectiveness. This is a high-impact opportunity to help shape the technical direction of Protect, the platform at the center of how Pindrop detects fraud and protects high-risk customer interactions in real time. You will work on systems that matter, partner with strong product and research peers, and influence both near-term delivery and longer-term architecture in a space evolving quickly under the pressure of adversarial AI.

  • Strong technical depth in cloud-native systems and modern engineering practices across AWS and/or GCP.
  • A track record of improving execution through better engineering metrics, process discipline, and organizational design.
  • Strategically minded and know how to turn complex business and technical goals into practical, executable plans.
  • Relationship-driven leader who builds trust across engineering and cross-functional teams, especially in fast-moving and ambiguous environments.
  • Care deeply about engineering quality, team health, and creating an environment where leaders and teams can do their best work.
  • Technically credible and AI-fluent, with the judgment to guide architectural decisions and adopt AI-enabled capabilities responsibly.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in fraud prevention, authentication, voice biometrics, risk engines, or related security domains.

  • Partner closely with Product, Research, Security, and executive stakeholders to align roadmap priorities, technical investments, and customer outcomes.
  • Raise the bar on architecture, observability, operational excellence, and developer productivity across your area.
  • Use metrics and sound engineering judgment to improve delivery health, team effectiveness, and the resilience of systems running at scale.
