About The Position

As the Director Software Engineering you will lead and inspire engineering organizations shaping technical strategy and driving innovation at scale. Your role is crucial in defining and executing technical vision while fostering a culture of engineering excellence. You will establish and scale engineering practices that enable sustainable growth while ensuring alignment between technical initiatives and business objectives. This position has direct supervisory responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Proven ability to lead and grow engineering organizations delivering large-scale software products
  • Extensive knowledge of software development principles architectures and best practices across the entire technology stack
  • Strong leadership mentorship and team-building skills to inspire and motivate large groups of engineers
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills to influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization
  • Strategic thinking and ability to translate business requirements into technical strategies
  • Track record of successfully navigating complex technical landscapes and driving innovation
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field
  • 10+ years of software engineering experience
  • 8+ years of engineering leadership experience
  • Comprehensive understanding of front-end and back-end technologies cloud platforms and DevOps practices
  • Experience in overseeing development across multiple technology stacks and frameworks
  • Proven track record in developing technical roadmaps including work estimation and large-scale system modernization
  • Deep understanding of agile methodologies and their application in large engineering organizations

  • Manage technical debt at organizational scale
  • Drive resource planning and allocation strategies
  • Establish quality standards and metrics across organizations
  • Guide disaster recovery and business continuity planning
  • Oversee major incident management processes
  • Define and track organizational health metrics
  • Advocate for and contribute to deployment process improvements
  • Drive technology innovation and thought leadership
  • Build strategic partnerships and industry relationships
